We found Charlie Curtis through a recommendation from a friend and he has now completed two full renovations for us. Charlie has a very clear and professional way of working and we knew on a weekly basis exactly where we were on every aspect of our budget so it was a very reassuring way of keeping track of the project costs.

Charlie has a fantastic team around him , they were all extremely hard working and reliable and all took great pride in the jobs they did.Their skills, craftsmanship and attention to detail resulted in a house we are proud of and that is true credit to Charlie and his team.  It was a pleasure to have all of his team working on site through a long scale project.  

Not only did Charlie thoroughly refurbish the whole house, we also took Charlie on as our project manager. He is a great team leader, totally reliable, always found solutions to problems that cropped up and turned a large project that could have been quite stressful into an enjoyable one. We would have no hesitation in recommending Charlie for any residential project.

He coordinates his team and material supplies, so he is one step ahead of what is happening next, so there are no delays along the way. He is receptive to new ideas and very adaptable if there are required changes to the design as the build progresses.

He has a great team to support him who are professional and take real pride in their quality of workmanship. Even though there can be a large number of trades on site it never feels intrusive to the rest of the household.

Charlie and his team carried out a room by room renovation project on our 3 storey Victorian property over a period of 12 months. The works included new ceilings, plastering, electrics, refurbishment of sash windows, replacing sash windows, roof works, repointing, replacing floorboards, building wardrobes and bookcases and general painting and decorating.   By the time we were ready to carry out our major project, the kitchen extension, we were in no doubt that there was no one else we would want to work with.

Charlie takes ownership of the whole project. He listens, understands concerns and does his utmost to find solutions.  He was endlessly patient with my enquiries and general lack of understanding of the building process.  He interpreted my vision and anticipated next steps – breaking down the decision-making process into bite sized chunks and gently nudging me in the right direction at times!   Communication with Charlie is excellent – we were always fully informed as to what was happening next.  If there was a hold-up we knew why and what he was doing about it.  He would let me know which members of the team were due at the house on days and what they would be doing.  We lived on site during most of the building works and the team were respectful of our home and the fact that we were on site.

Charlie made the process as painless as possible and we are immensely pleased with the results.  The new living space exceeds our expectations and I don’t think we could have done it without Charlie and his team.

I first met Charlie when I needed a new bathroom and kitchen in a rental property. Since then he has completed a major extension in our own home including a basement, roof terrace, landscaping, bespoke carpentry and an oak framed sunroom.

I was recommended Charlie from a number of different people as being the best builder around, they were not wrong.  From the start he was always really professional.  I felt completely in control of our build, but also could see how much work Charlie was undertaking on  a daily basis on our behalf.  I knew exactly what was happening on site each day and week.  He very rarely brought me problems, just a range of solutions from which to make a decision.  He was clear with the budget and at each stage made me aware of what we were spending so at the end there were no surprises.  He was always easy to contact and was there always there for support, even minor things like which shelf brackets to choose.

Our finished house is amazing, we have been living in it for January 2017 now and it is just how we hoped it would be.  Very happy customers.
